NYMPSFIELD QUIET DAY - SATURDAY 10TH MAY - TONGUES OF FIRE - A FEW PLACES STILL AVAILABLE

Home

The Friends of All Saints' invite you to a music and poetry presentation
on Sunday April 6th at 3.30pm in church entitled "New Life".

At Easter we celebrated  the great feast of the Christian Faith!

Many people shared with us in our celebration
of Jesus' triumph
over death and his rising to new life.

The wooden cross erected outside the church on Palm Sunday was dressed with a purple shroud and Crown of Thorns on Good Friday. These were replaced by a white cloth and flower garland on Easter Day.

Throughout Holy Week, the churches of our Team prepared for Holy Week together, by sharing in Holy Communion and Stations of the Cross on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Maundy Thursday's Mass of the Last Supper saw All Saints completely re-arranged to give an altar in the centre of the Nave and seating in the round.

On Good Friday morning, about fifty people of all ages gathered at All Saints to journey together from Palm Sunday to the Crucifixion, stopping to take part in inter-active stations along the way.

The afternoon Liturgy was the simple and moving Mass of the Pre-Sanctified, with Veneration of the Cross at St Nicolas' church.

The first celebration of Easter took place at St Mary's, late on Holy Saturday evening, when the New Fire was kindled, baptismal vows renewed and the first Mass of Easter celebrated.

On Easter Day, all three churches had a good trun-out - across the Team, the following figures were recorded:
